Every Child Deserves to Be Affirmed, Protected, and Empowered

LGBTQ+ youth across the country are facing a crisis. Policies designed to erase their identities, silence their voices, and strip them of support are being passed at an alarming rate. These laws do not just limit their rights—they threaten their safety, mental health, and futures.

Protect Q Youth is a national campaign dedicated to ensuring that LGBTQ+ students are safe, supported, and able to thrive in schools and communities that affirm their identities.

Through advocacy, education, and direct support, we are fighting back against the harmful policies that target LGBTQ+ youth. We know that when students are affirmed and protected, they have higher self-esteem, better mental health, and greater success in school and life. The future of LGBTQ+ students should not be determined by politics. It is our responsibility to ensure they have a place in every classroom, every community, and every conversation about equity and inclusion.

The Crisis LGBTQ+ Students Face

Across the country, a dangerous wave of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation is threatening the safety and well-being of queer and trans youth.

Federal

The Federal “Don’t Say Gay” Executive Order is a sweeping attack on LGBTQ+ inclusion in schools, blocking discussions of gender identity and sexuality, cutting funding for LGBTQ+ student support, and forcing teachers to report students who express their identities.

State

Florida’s HB 241 & Similar State Laws give parents broad control over their children’s education and healthcare, preventing students from accessing LGBTQ+ resources and forcing schools to out them, even if they are not safe at home.

Local

Curriculum Censorship is erasing LGBTQ+ history and identities from textbooks, while the reinstatement of the 1776 Commission mandates that schools teach a revisionist version of history that ignores systemic discrimination.

Affirm every child’s identity. Protect them from erasure or harm. Empower them to flourish in authenticity.

These emerging policies are not just political decisions; they are life-altering for the young people they affect. Without intervention, LGBTQ+ students will continue to face increased rates of depression, school dropouts, and homelessness.

Your Role in Protecting LGBTQ+ Youth

This is not a fight that LGBTQ+ students can take on alone. It requires the collective effort of educators, parents, advocates, and allies. Here’s how you can make a difference:
